You are organizing the Cyprus Marathon, Half Marathon & 10 km on the 8th of March 2015. Can you tell us where your event is located and how runners are able to travel there easily?

The international running event will be held in the city of Pafos, Cyprus. Pafos has its own airport and runners can travel easily to Pafos with direct flights to the city's airport.

Are there different distances in your event?

The event comprises of three races: Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 km Road Race.

Tell us something about the history of your event. Why was it created in the first place and how has it changed over the years?

The Logicom Cyprus Marathon, Half Marathon & 10 km Road Race is an annual event and it will be held for the 17th consecutive year on Sunday 8th March 2015 in Pafos.

The event was established back in 1999 and it is one of the oldest and best marathon events on the island (that is what the reviews say). The Cyprus Marathon was created to celebrate and to promote the sport of running. In addition to that, the event attracts a lot of overseas runners and promotes the sports tourism in Cyprus.

Describe your route a bit. How’s the scenery? Is the route beginner friendly? Can runners expect PB's?

The Marathon course will start from Petra tou Romiou (Birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty) and finish at the Pafos Mediaeval Fort Square. The Half Marathon and 10 km Road Race will start and finish at the Pafos Mediaeval Fort Square nearby the Pafos fishing harbor. The course is a blend of magnificent scenery alongside the Mediterranean coastline and historic sight-seeing such as the Pafos Medieval Fort and Aphrodite's Birthplace. A lot of support is also given by the locals and tourists that encourage all runners to finish strong!

How many runners do you expect to have in your event?

More than 700 runners are expected to participate in the event with a blend of European runners and Cypriots, who are set to run one of the oldest and best city marathons in all of Cyprus! Participants are runners belonging to Running Clubs and a vast majority of them are individuals who simply enjoy running and combine it with a short or long holiday in Pafos.

What kind of weather conditions can runners prepare to face in your event?

The average temperature in March is between 9 to 20 degrees centigrade with a winter sun giving fuel to the finish line celebrations!

What else should runners do in the city after/before the race? Any suggestions to newcomers?

Pafos seduces its visitor with its majestic landscape, lovely coastline, historical treasures and delightful villages where tradition is still a way of life. Kept in harmony with nature are many medieval monasteries, which lie peacefully in the Pafos heartland.

How would you describe your event to people who haven't yet participated in it? What makes your event unique?
