You are organizing on the 29th of March 2015. Can you tell us where your event is located and how runners are able to travel there easily?
Novi Sad has around 500.000 inhabitants, which makes Novi Sad the second largest city in Serbia, also known as University center of Vojvodina region, the northern part of Serbia. It is important to mention that the distance from Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla is around 70 km and that Novi Sad is located on the highway Budapest-Belgrade (E75), just 294 km from Budapest. During the year two major races take place in Novi Sad: Novi Sad Half Marathon (on 29th March 2015) with more than one thousand participants and Novi Sad Marathon in October.
Are there different distances in your event?
We have races of the length 21.097 km and 10 km.
Tell us something about the history of your event. Why was it created in the first place and how has it changed over the years?
This is the 22nd Novi Sad Half Marathon, the tradition is long-standing. The start and finish are located in the center of Novi Sad. The race goes through the most beautiful streets of Novi Sad city.
Describe your route a bit. How’s the scenery? Is the route beginner friendly? Can runners expect PB’s?
Route is flat, track is fast and interesting to runners. Every 4 km we have refreshment points with water. The start and finish of both races are located in the City center, in front of the City Hall. The running track is completely flat and goes through the old part of the city next to the Orthodox Church to the river Danube, historically significant Pertovaratin Fortress (from 1692), and through the University center and some new parts of town.
How many runners do you expect to have in your event?
We expect more than one thousand participants.
What kind of weather conditions can runners prepare to face in your event?
Temperature at this time of year is about 15 degrees, and the weather is usually sunny.
What else should runners do in the city after/before the race? Any suggestions to newcomers?
The runners who decide to run the Novi Sad Half Marathon will be able to experience the hospitality of the people and take part in an interesting race. The city is peaceful and calm with a slow way of life, because of which your stay in Novi Sad is guaranteed to be a very pleasant sports holiday.

Novi Sad is well known for its quality wines and very tasty food, as well as for affordable prices for accommodation in nice hotels and bargain restaurants. Across the Danube River is Fruska Gora, a wonderful hill well known for its natural beauty, famous vineyards and very old monasteries.
