Valencia Marathon (Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso) is held annually in the historic city of Valencia which, with its entirely flat circuit and perfect November temperature, averaging between 12-17 degrees, represents the ideal setting for hosting such long-distance sporting challenge.
Valencia Marathon boasts the first-ranking position among the best marathons in Spain according to the Royal Spanish Federation for Athletics (RFEA).
The flat marathon circuit, passing through the city and on asphalt, is approved by AIMS/RFEA and every kilometer is indicated by sign panels. Running alongside the Mediterranean coastline, barely metres from the sea, taking in areas of the city where events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix is held and the Americas Cup was celebrated are only a few of the attractions that await the participants when taking part in the Valencia Marathon.
The 10 km race runs parallel to the marathon, but on a distinct course. Maximum time: 1 hour 30 minutes.
Start and finish of both distances are located in the Ciudad de la Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences).
The running route will be marked with a green strip and the kilometres signaled. In accordance with the IAAF regulations, there will be a refreshment stall every 5 km on both courses. The refreshment stalls will provide runners with water, isotonic drinks, energy gels and fruit. In addition, water, isotonic drinks, fresh and dried fruit and pastries will be available in the finish area.
The passport number of participants is required in the sign up process due to the insurance policy of Real Spanish Federation of Athletism. The age limit for participation is 18 years.
