What's it like to work in the MyNextRun tech team?

We want to offer you a little glimpse behind the MyNextRun tech curtain. Read on to learn more about the team and our daily work building MyNextRun.

We all share a comfortable open office in Kamppi, Helsinki, filled with brilliant people. Regardless of title, they are all serious about getting their hands dirty in order to guarantee the product success.

How are the working days constructed?

Our daily work consists of working with Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Git, Jenkins, and everything is then deployed to Amazon Cloud. We work in two-week-sprints, meaning that we plan and prioritize our tasks always for two weeks at a time. In addition, we also have a daily status meeting every morning to see if there are any specific issues or problems that we need to focus on. We use Jenkins, a continuous integration tool, to build and test our software. It is an automatized tool, which helps us monitor the software in order to avoid potential problems. Another service that we use on a daily basis is GitHub, a version control service that we use also for project management. We create all the tasks there, prioritize the work in milestones and divide tasks within the team.

What’s it like to work at MyNextRun?

Working at MyNextRun is fun! We are constantly faced with interesting tasks and challenges. Developing the service also poses occasional problems that need to be solved. We are constantly developing the service further and this requires a lot of changes in the current model. The software needs to evolve with the rest of the company in order to satisfy the needs of our users.

MyNextRun lets your personality and talent shine, and you can concentrate on developing a high quality service. You don’t have to do it alone, though. We work as a team. Our working culture is friendly, relaxed and international. To be able to enjoy working with us, a positive attitude towards both your work and your colleagues is required, and you can expect the same back from us!

The tech team currently consists of Robin, CTO, and Toni, Senior Software Developer. However, MyNextRun is constantly looking for talented, hard-working people to join our development team.
