The event course is on the ice road between Koli and Vuonislahti, which is officially the longest ice road on Europe's freshwater areas. The event venue is Pielinen, which is the fourth larfes lake in Finland.

The distance is flat and icy. A breeze will emphasize the arctic feel. The courses are an excellent chance to admire the scenic Pielinen landscape. The road has ice on it for the most part, so shoes should be studded.
There are three refreshment points, at each end of the ice road and one in the middle, i.e. every 3,5 km. At the refreshment points there is warm juice available, other supplements the participants need to carry themselves.
